Gearmatic has expanded its next-generation GM Series with the launch of the GM27 and GM35 hydraulic planetary hoists, engineered for demanding marine and drilling applications.
The GM27 and GM35 incorporate direct customer feedback to address real-world operational challenges. All GM hoists share the Series’ core platform of durability, serviceability, and operator-focused functionality—including crowned planetary gears for quieter, more efficient performance and extended service life; sintered bronze brake discs for smooth operation, even after long storage intervals; and stainless steel drum seal lands for exceptional corrosion resistance. Equal speed and high speed reverse models are available to suit multiple applications in the fishing, dredging and drilling markets.
The GM27 and GM35 allow rope to be routed beneath the tie plates, enabling it to run closer to the deck for improved operator safety. A hydraulic motor with symmetrical ports enables quick and simple winch rotation changes, reducing installation complexity across multiple vessel and equipment configurations.
Both new models feature a standard sight glass for easy oil-level monitoring, an indexable breather for 360° mounting flexibility, and a design centered on fast, simple maintenance—offering longer oil life and up to 50% faster service times with no special tools required. Parts are readily available and supported by Gearmatic’s industry-leading customer service.
The GM27 delivers a 27,000 lb (12,247 kg) rated line pull, offering 7% more pull than competitive models. The GM35 is the first planetary hoist in the market rated at 35,000 lb (15,876 kg), providing a new option for customers requiring high-capacity lifting at an accessible price point. Both models are available with two drum sizes (-02 and -05) accommodating up to 334 ft (102 m) and 2,169 ft (661 m) of 7/8” (22 mm) rope, respectively.
